I've made a decision at the end of last year to start investing more in my wardrobe and in the quality of the items I buy.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have the biggest of budgets but I've come to dread how wasteful my clothing buying habits are. I'm tired of buy lots of cheap things (which, when you add them all up, don't come out that cheap at all) which don't last very long due the poor quality, only to have the cycle repeat itself in a few months time anyway! I'm making a conscious decision to buy less but buy quality.
This scarf is my first ever luxury purchase. I got it for Christmas from my lovely (and generous!) husband and I'm so glad I asked for it to be put under our tree! Plus, the Net a Porter box looks so nice! I asked Joe to not let me open it before Christmas day and he stood strong despite me later on begging him to open it before! Opening this beautiful box on Christmas day was really special.
The Acne scarf is made out of 100% virgin wool, which I've recently learn means it's wool made from a lambs's first shearing! It feels extremely soft and warm and the quality is exceptional. The thing I was looking forward to the most was having a scarf that doesn't shed. With my old Primark ones, I'd always end up finding bits of fibre in mouth if I maybe had a drink or a coffee while wearing it. I'm very happy to say, this scarf does not shed!
All in all, I'm super happy with this purchase. If you're thinking about getting this scarf, the only thing I will say about it is: go for a dark colour! I got make up on it the very first time I wore it (and instantly panicked, of course, it was expensive!). Luckily one of my co-workers knows what she's doing around wool and knits and got it off by simply rubbing the stain with a dry bit of tissue. It worked perfectly but it is a bit annoying having to think about it constantly. No fault of the scarf, though!
