What I Picked Up From Charlotte Tilbury

I feel like the Charlotte Tilbury store in Covent Garden has become a bit of a Mecca for beauty addicts who flock down to London! When I was the last month, of course I had to pay a visit and I can tell you right now, it is every bit as gorgeous as I'd imagined it! Everything looks quite pristine and don't even get me started on the sales associates! They all had amazing make up and were actually really friendly and made you feel comfortable having a browse, which is always important.

I've been looking at Charlotter Tilbury's products for ages now. It's no secret they've used the power of social media to make the products even more popular and it's worked quite well. How can anyone help but to covet this gorgeous packaging? I was still to find out if the quality of the products matched the hype, though. These are the first bit from the brand I've ever tried and, I gotta say, I have not been left disappointed! I picked up a lip liner and one of the lipsticks, here are my thoughts:

Charlotte Tilbury Lip cheat in "Iconic Nude"
I've been a fan of lip liners for a long, long time now so my expectations every time I try a new one are always very high! I'm forever mixing different lip liners and lipsticks trying to achieve what I feel like is the perfect colour, but I can never find it in one single product. Guess what? Here it is! The Iconic Nude shade is the first one I've found that matches my natural lip colour almost exactly, but then gives me that "my lips but better" look. I love that it is a true nude on me, not a pinky or peachy nude, but just perfectly neutral. And the formula is absolutely spot on: it doesn't feel drying or tight and looks like you've got nothing on but at the same time it stays put all day. Bold statement here, but I think I found the perfect lip liner!

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in "Hepburn Honey"
Now, this was something of an impulse purchased. I'd sat my sights on the lip liner and when they asked me if I'd liked to try anything else.... I just couldn't resist! I ask the sales assistant which lipstick would go with the lip liner so she showed me this. I immediately LOVED the name and also fell in love with the neutral nude shade instantly. The formula of these original lipsticks is ever so comfortable and they have a slight sheen to the finish, which I think looks very classic. The staying power is nothing to speak of unfortunately, but that's the only downside. Plus, because I actually enjoy reapplying my make up, it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Have you guys tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury? What are your favourite bits? x

What I Wore to London Fashio Week SS17

The title of this post might be a little bit misleading. I'm not going to dozens of shows in a season, so this "What I Wore to Fashion Week" is really just the outfit I wore to the N&S Gaia show! #KeepingItReal, right??

Sneakers were a huge trend this season and there were lots of bloggers wearing trainers to the shows. It was the perfect excuse for me to wear my trusty Converses. They are my favourite shoes, I've always got them on during the weekend and I was so pleased to wear them because who knew you could this comfy at a fashion show!?

I just fell in love with this top from Zara and I built my whole outfit around it. Black will always be my comfort zone but something see-through like this most definitely is NOT! I felt good about wearing something I normally wouldn't and it made me realize it's great to be thrown into situations like this which make you reevaluate your own normal. I paired it with a lacy bralette from TopShop. I've been looking for something like this for yonks and could never find the right style so I was super happy when I found this in TopShop!

As for the pair of jeans, they're the good old, trusty Leigh jeans from TopShop again. I feel like everyone and their mothers have this style of jeans nowadays. I hadn't even tried them on before as I don't normally shop there. I do really love the shape of these, tucking a shirt into a slight high waist like this just makes for instant cool and I loved it! The necklace and the bag I also picked up at TopShop.

My lip colour is MAC's Cherry lip liner topped with the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw.

(I was a bad, bad blogger that day and left my camera at home so excuse the iPhone snaps!)

N&S Gaia SS 2017 // Fashion Scout LFW

London Fashion week is well and truly over now and the eyes of the world are now turning to Milan. Am I the only one who feels quite sad when fashion week is over? haha Especially this year as this was the first year I was invited to a show and it was an amazing experience. I had the privilege to watch the N&S Gaia show during this year's Fashion Scout event. It took place in the Freemanson's Hll in the heart of Covent Garden and the venue couldn't have been more amazing.

The SS '17 collection was compromised mostly of dresses and skirts, but the pieces that really caught my eye were really the long and flowy capes the girls are seen wearing here with these swimsuits. How fantastically glamorous would you feel wearing these poolside? Or even as a statement over a simple outfit of boyfriend jeans and a tshirt? I just love it!

The brand are known for their use of ethically sourced and eco fabrics and materials. To be completely honest, whenever I hear of brands like that, my head immediately goes to bland, white and beige designs and I can't help but yawn. That is most definitely NOT the case with N&S Gaia, how wonderfully and delightfully colourful are these designs?! I love all the embroidery work going on too, some of the pieces had lovely sparkle and shine to the details. It was a true delight to see.

Unfortunately, being a fashion week newbie, I did myself the disservice of forgetting my camera at home! You live you learn, right? It's more likely to all of yours benefit, as these pictures look stunning and you can truly appreciate the designs!

Thank you very much to N&S Gaia and Yannis Sioudan from Interference Press for this opportunity. Believe me, it was not taken lightly and I can't thank you enough for giving me this opportunity. :)

Dry Skin Saviours: Nuxe, Lush and Avene

As a teenager, I suffered with really terrible acne. If you've ever experienced it yourself, I know I don't need to tell you what a terrible time that was. It's going through the most awkward years of your life and having your confidence knocked even further down because of your skin. In other words, it sucked!

So, having that as my skin history, I never thought that one day I'd be struggling with dry skin! Obviously, the weather in England plays a part as it is such a polar opposite to the humid heat I had to deal with in Brazil. But as much as I hate to admit it, I also have a sneaking suspicion that this is something that comes with age as well (I can't believe I'll be 26 in October! *insert appropriate Emoji here*). I struggled quite a bit last winter trying to figure this out.

My skin felt really sore and it was flaking on my cheeks and I got eyebrow dandruff which is pretty awful... haha But these are the product that have done wonders for my skin:

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Purpose Dry Oil
I've been using this as a face oil, even though it can't be used as a hair and body oil as well. I really enjoy the smell and it feels like a real treat every time I use it. It has a really lovely smell and I can't describe how supple and lovely it makes my skin feel! Plus, I do love the packaging, it's glass so feels super luxurious, plus the golden colour of the oil with the gold screw on lid make it really beautiful to look at!

Avene Hydrance Optimale Rich Hydrating Cream
Weirdly enough, sometimes I feel like just the oil sits a bit funny on my skin. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the texture of it on it's own doesn't always give me the comfort I'm looking for so I LOVE mixing it with this lovely, rich cream. Avene is a brand that caters to very sensitive skin, so there's no fragrance to this, which can cause irritation. I always put the duo on at night when before I go to bed and I wake up with baby soft skin the next morning.

Lush Skindrink Facial Moisturizer
I went into Lush to buy a leaving present for one of my friends who is moving back home and when I saw this, it instantly jumped out at me. It sounded like exactly what I'd been looking for since last Winter and it actually is! You probably wouldn't need the oil and the cream if you just buy this one (I'm just greedy and like variety!), as this is the most hydrating yet non greasy moisturizer I've ever come across. The only thing that lets it down, unfortunately, is the smell (really, Lush?!). It is very unpleasant and doesn't feel like a treat, as I have to hold my breath whenever I'm applying it (the smell goes away after a minute or so), but the way it feel and comforts my skin is unbeatable!

So, do any of you struggle with dry skin? What else should I try?? x

Cornwall: Carbis Bay Break

Hello all!
Joe and I just got home from a couple of days in Cornwall. We had originally booked a few days off of work for Joe's birthday (I'm married to a 31 year old, how weird! haha), but later decided to make it a whole week and go away for some of it. We spent a few days in Wales last year around the same time, so wanted to visit somewhere different this time. We settled on driving as far south as we could and hope for the best weather wise so we ended up in beautiful Cornwall. We didn't know what to expect as neither of us had been there before, but everyone we talked to kept telling us how beautiful it was and we obviously saw all the gorgeous pictures on Google and TripAdvisor...

We stayed at a hotel in a town called Camborne. Everybody aims for St Ives when visiting Cornwall, but we were warned by a local friend about how expensive it can be so I think we made the right choice! Having a car makes everything much easier since everything is so close together! Our hotel was only a 20 minutes drive from St Ives and it was half the price of some of the places we found there.

St Ives really is a must if you're visiting Cornwall. It's very charming and there are loads to do and see. But the place we really fell for was Carbis Bay. It was a bit of a challenge to find the best way to get down to Carbis Bay Beach, but once you get there, it really is worth all the trouble! The beach is not too busy and the sea is ever so calm. The water was cold (we are in England, after all!), but the weather was so warm, it was actually really refreshing.

I've been such a busy bee with work and it can get really stressful at time, so it's nice to take a break and think about something else in a while. I hate being the type of person who brings work home and can never quite stop thinking about all the things I need to do the next day. I came home feeling brand new. I didn't realize how much I needed this break. Maybe I should take up meditation? Or maybe just the occasional nap might do the trick?

I've got lots of brand new ideas for where I want to take the blog, new content and a new direction. I'm very excited to share everything with you guys in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned. x

Sunday Treat | The Fox Inn - Worcester

Today was finally such a gorgeous Sunday! The sun was shining so bright here in Worcester, I couldn't wait to get out there and enjoy a day out. I've finally gotten my learner's driving permit in the post so Joe took me for a bit of a drive. We went to The Fox Inn, a lovely gastro pub that sits right in between Worcester and Malvern, in a gorgeous setting! I love driving up that way, I feel so privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Nothing beats the Worcestershire country side on a sunny weekend's day.

We were also celebrating my first week at my new job. It's been really scary doing something new, but so very exciting at the same time! I love the feeling of a new challenge ahead. I'd been doing the same job for almost a year now so getting to do something different is definitely a welcome change. At times I've felt like maybe this new position wasn't for me and was convincing myself I wouldn't be up for the challenge... But that's exactly how I felt about my previous job when I started it and now I can do it with my eyes closed! I really need to cut myself some slack with this one and realize it's only been a week and Rome wasn't built in a day and all that. I've been really lucky in that my new colleagues have all been very supportive and helpful! I feel like bringing them all a cake that reads "thanks for tolerating me" on Monday morning!

Also this week Joe and I started an 8 week challenge at a "gym alternative" called Training for Warriors. We've done so great on our first week at it, we decided to treat ourselves today! Sounds counter productive, but it helps us keep our sanity!

I hope you all had a lovely week and weekend! x

Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Cream for Face | Review

Clarins is a French brand with an uber cult status and loads of their products are absolute beauty classics (hello, Beauty Flash Balm!). Their skincare range is one of the best available out there. I've tried many of their products before and today I'm here to talk about one of their most basic ones: the Sun Wrinkle Control Cream!

I'm sure I don't need to tell you guys: exposure to sun rays is one of the biggest causes of skin aging, along with smoking and sugar consumption. And that is why it's so important to wear sunscreen every-single-day! Even if it's cloudy outside, don't forget that clouds don't filter UVA and UVB rays. Luckily, wearing sunscreen daily is a habit I got into last year and I'm still managing to keep up!

And I think what helped me keep this habit going was having found the right product for me! This Clarins sunscreen has both UVA and UVB protection (only one or the other won't give you the protection you need, always read the label), so it's already ideal in that sense.

But the biggest reason why I fell in love with it is the texture: it doesn't sit completely matte, but there's also nothing oily about it! I know that the main reason I never liked wearing sunscreen before was that I always felt it sticky and heavy on my face and I knew any make up on top would just melt right off. But this is so light in texture, I barely even notice it's there and it's a good enough base for make up (no bits peeling off or grey face with this one!). I'm going on holiday to Brazil next week and I've already picked up an extra bottle!

You can pick it up from Boots or find it online at and it's always around £18!

So, do you wear sunscreen daily??

My 2016 Goals!

I can hardly believe 2016 is already here and there is a whole entire year ahead of us! This mean 366 new opportunities to reach our goals. I really do believe every days is a blank canvas, waiting for us to paint our master-piece!

I decided to write this post and share my goals with everyone since I think putting them out there and sharing them online is a great way to keep myself in check! I just think I don't wanna look a fool when next December comes around and I've done nothing of what I had planned. haha

1. Drink more water:
This year I'm not falling for the trap of the "losing weight" goal! My goal will be 100% dedicated to improving my health and losing the weight will come as a mere consequence. Drinking lots of water is so important for our health and I'm always forgetting to fill my bottle up at work. I'm thinking about buying a cute, jazzy bottle to remind myself!

2. Eat less sugar:
Along side alochol and UV rays, sugar is one of the things that make your skin age the quickest! It's been proven that eating excessive amounts of sugar can inhibit your skins production of colagen, which is the stuff that makes your skin looks plump, young and healthy! I know I want to keep my skin looking as good as possible for as long as possible, so I feel like this won't be as much of a sacrifice, but rather a gift from present me to future me!

3. Spend less on things and more on experiences:
Joe and I have the exact same problem. We like STUFF too much! haha We always end up spending more of our money on material things, like make up or a new TV or computer and we really wanna change this in 2016! Every time we go out to do something different, we always say "We should do this more often!" Going to gigs or little day trips on weekends... These will be the building blocks of our future memories and we really need to focus more on them!

4. Keep the blog updated:
I've had blogs on and off ever since I was 12 years old. The one I've kept the longest is the one you're reading right now! I enjoy doing it so much, it's my favourite hobbie and I've not found one I enjoy as much. I'm starting 2016 around here with a bang by graduating to a .com adress (such adulting!) and hopefully I'll be able to keep it going all year. Might even go back to doing English videos, you never know!

Right, so there you have my goals for this year! I did try to keep them as simple as possible, so I don't get too bamboozled with the later on and just give up on everything after 2 weeks. hahaha. If you've got a 2016 goals post on your blog, leave the link in the comments down bellow or just tell me all about them and we'll keep every one motivated.
