This is yet another toner containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), which promises to reveal brighter, softer skin by gently exfoliating its top layer. According to Caroline, it's a toned down version of the harder to get P50 and of the Pixi Glow toner. However, having used both, it is not comparable to the Alpha H Liquid Gold. I've heard some people are using the Liquid Gold as a toner, which it is not! Keep in mind, the LG is a treatment, to be used every other day, max.
Now, Clarins recommend their toner be used twice a week, but I've personally been using it every day and have had no problems. Using it on its own, there is no danger of over exfoliating. I have noticed though, that if I use it the day after I apply the Liquid Gold, my skin get very sensitive and starts showing signs of over exfoliation (the it's Una Brennan's Rose Hydrate Mask to the rescue!), so be careful with that! I've definitely noticed an improvement on my skin's texture after I started using this, which I love! It makes my skin feel very soft and nourished. Most impressive of all though, I also found my acne scarring start to fade a lot faster since I've this is my routine, so it is definitely a winner for me!
I've been really enjoying using this and already have my sights on another Clarins toner (their Tonin Lotion With Iris) for when I'm using my beloved Liquid Gold.
You can get this at Clarins counters all over the country or straight from their website. The Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner is £25 for 125ml.
