Philip Kingsley Volumizing Range - Review

My hair is quite fine and there's not a lot of it, so a couple of months ago I bought a sample kit with these two products and the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. I really enjoyed all three products, so decided to go for the full sizes! Except for the Elasticizer, since the full sized tub is too freaking expensive! haha I do really enjoy it though, I thoroughly recommend it!

Firstly the shampoo! It is clear and lathers up really well. You know the feeling you get sometimes when you're shampooing your hair and your nails feel dry? I got that with this shampoo and was instantly worried it was drying my hair out. But when I rinsed it out my hair felt unexpectedly soft! I have no idea how volumising shampoos work, but this one is a miracle worker! After air drying, my hair looked thicker and the volume was amazing! I kept touching the sides of my head to feel the "poof"! haha Also, it made my hair feel really clean, without feeling stripped of moisture. The conditioner does a great job at detangling my hair and works great with the shampoo! My hair has never looked more voluminous, bouncy and healthy!

Now, girls, I want to share with you a blog I've been loving! Some of you might have heard about it already, it's by brazilian girl Camila Coelho, Supervaidosa ("super vain", in English). Her tutorials on YouTube are amazing and she just started an English channel! Check it out here!

DKNY Saffiano two-zip Shopper

So here it is girls, the content of the Selfridges bag! Apologies for the delay. I got it for my birthday in October. Hubbie and I went to the Selfridges in the Bullring and the bag I was really eyeing was the Michael Kors Travel Tote in Medium. I was really disappointed that they only had it in Small and Large and, like a child, just wanted to go home empty handed. haha I'm lucky I have a very patient and caring husband, as he convinced me to look around and check out the other bags. I found this DKNY one and loved it straight away! It's called the Saffiano Work two-zip Shopper.

I knew i was going to spend an unreasonable amount of money on this bag so I really wanted to make sure the model was simple and classic (no season trend designer bags for me -yet! haha). I love how it kind of looks like a female suitcase, I think that's very elegant! There are two straps to carry it on your arm and a longer one to wear it as a cross body. I wouldn't recommend the latter though, as I found it can really mess up the shape of the bag. This is the same material as the MK bag. I had no idea what it was, but in my head I was sure it wasn't leather. I was wrong! It's actually Saffiano leather, it's just a different treatment that the leather receives.

There are three compartments in this bag and I think it's the perfect amount of space. The middle one has a magnet to close it, it's very roomie and has 2 zipper compartments and a place for you phone. No more hunting for it in the depths of the bag! The other two compartment close with a zipper and are just as spacious and fit my iPad perfectly! Unfortunately, this bag hasn't held its shape very well. You can see the bit that stick out to the side. They used to be perfectly straight. I think that is my own fault, though, in the way I stored it. I now make sure it's always hanging instead of just sitting somewhere!

All in all, I am very happy with this bag! It's so classic and elegant, I'm getting so much use out of it! I really love this bag!

Phyto Intense Hydrating Oil Treatment - Huile D'Ales Review

Another Phyto product, another review! I feel like there's a bit of a Phyto overload going on on the blog right now, but this one is a product worth sharing! The Phyto Huile D'Ales is a pre-shampoo oil treatment and it comes in five little ampoules. It contains castor plant oil, essential oils of sage, rosemary, and juniper berries.

To be honest, I did think it was a bit too gimmicky at first glance. I thought I would find the process of getting the oil into the spray bottle a bit of a pain but it is actually really fun, like a science experiment! haha The spray bottle is brilliant, since it makes it so much easier to distribute the product evenly on the hair. Now, this oil is VERY sticky, which is great because it doesn't drip off of the hair when it's on, but the application can be a bit of a nuisance. I suggest wearing clothes you don't particularly care for and doing it in the bathroom!

I like to put my hair up in a bun and leave it on for 30-45 minutes. I always concentrate the application on the ends of my hair and the results are mind blowing. I could have avoided so many hair cuts if I had discovered this product before! The ends of my hair are left really hydrated and my hair looks shinier than ever. This is definitely a HG product for me!

The only downside to this product is the fact that if you have extremely long hair, one ampoule might not be enough. The Phyto Huile D'Ales comes with five 10ml ampoules and it's available from FeelUnique.com for £14.50.

What's on my bedside table?

I've been really enjoying reading these posts in other blogs. I guess it's that nosey side in me that enjoys knowing details of people's lives! Is anybody else like that? I think that's one of the reasons why blogging has become so successful, it gives you that little glimpse into other people's lives and homes!

This is what my bedside table looks like when I'm taking pictures for the blog:

This is what my bedside table looks like in real life:

Because we're never quite sure when we are moving house, the husband and I are holding off on buying any bigger pieces of furniture. Right now, my good ol' trusty Malm bedside table from IKEA is also doubling as a vanity table! The table mirror on there and the lamp are also from IKEA. The mug where I keep my make up brushes and other things is from Starbucks São Paulo. I guess what I keep on there are the things I use the most. The Avene thermal water, the Caudalie oil and the Clinique moisturizer. I also recently bought that lip balm, it's by L'Occitane and it's packed full of Shea butter and other good stuff. It's doing a great job at keeping chapped lips at bay! A glass of water because I always get really thirsty at night (I think it's because of the heating), my crappy cellphone, ELLE magazine and my trusty iPad!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Leave the link to yours (if you have one) in the comments, I'd love to see them!

My Christmas Wishlist

(First, let me apologize for the lack of posts these past few days, i felt my blogging mojo had gone for a walk but I'm definitely back now!)

One of the perks of having a blog is being able to make posts like these and drop the hints to your friends and family as to what you want for Christmas! haha Who agrees??
1. Origins Masks - No Puffery and Drink Up Intensive: I just feel like I need these masks in my life! For some reason I always get puffy eyes in the morning and the reviews on this sound amazing! Also, the over night mask is almost a cult product now, everybody raves about it!
2. Chanel Books: these look like the perfect coffee table books, they have such lovely photographs and who can't appreciate a bit of Chanel?
3. MAC Pro 15 Shadow Palette: I think the design of the new palette looks so much better than the old one. The clear lid makes it so much easier to find what you're looking for. After seeing this I decided to start a MAC eyeshadow collection (everybody needs a hobbie, right? haha). The first 3 I'm going for are Woodwinked, Corduroy and Brulee!
4. Real Techniques Core Collection: I essentially want this set because of the buffing brush! The fact that the whole set costs a few pounds more than a MAC 217 makes it such good value, in my opinion!
5. Burberry Classic Eau de Parfum: I adore this perfume! I got it for Christmas a few years ago and loved it straight away. It has a very sweet smell, but it's not overwhelming. And the staying power is ridiculously good!
6. iPhone 5: Well, do i really need to explain this one? haha
7. Diptyque Holiday Candle Set: As if the candles aren't gorgeous enough, just look at the packaging of this! This set contains their more wintery smelling candles and I can't wait to get my hands on these!!!

What's on your Christmas wish list? Leave the links to your posts in the comments! x

MAC Mini Haul!

These are some of the contents from the Selfridge's bag! haha I'm still working on the review of the big item. These are some products I've been wanting to get for kind of a long time now and I have to say, I am really happy with all of them! MAC is a strange brand for me. As much as I always want to try different brands and products, I always end up going back to MAC, for some reason! Is anyone else like this, too? haha

The first product I picked up was their lip pencil in "Cherry". I had a bit of a drama with this one! I had gone to Birmingham with the hubbie to go do some birthday shopping and watch Skyfall. When we were in the cinema, 30 min before the movie started, I decided to take a look at my goodies and noticed the make up artist at the counter had given me "Chicory" instead of "Cherry"! So I had to RUN back to Selfridges before they closed. Thankfully it worked out! haha I wanted a lip liner to go with my Kate Moss lipstick. This works fine with it, but it's a bit lighter. I wanna get Ruby Woo now, as I really liked the lighter shade of red on me!

Next up is a Studio Fix concealer in NW30. I already have it in NW35, which looks perfect if I have foundation on, but I wanted something to wear on it's own on lazy days and the NW35 looked too dark. I love this concealer, it does such a great job at hiding imperfections without looking too cakey! And last but not least, the infamous Mineralize Skin Finish in "Soft and Gentle". I won't bore you with a review on this, we've all heard about it a million time over. It's silky smooth, looks amazing on the cheek bones.... The only thing I would say is don't over blend it or else you might end up with a lot of glitter on your face instead of the nice sheen it has!

I'm really happy with my purchases. Are guys lusting over anything from MAC?

Phyto Clarifying Shampoo Review

I've been really loving Phyto hair products lately. This was my first one, which I got about a month ago. I really needed a clarifying shampoo as I could feel and see how heavy my hair looked from product build up so I decided to invest in a good one! I'd hear about this Detoxifying Shampoo from Phyto in a few blogs and the reviews were all really good, so I took the plunge (as Phyto products aren't cheap!) and ordered it from FeelUnique.com (where else? Can you tell it's my favourite online store?).

The shampoo comes in a metal bottle, which is different! I'm not sure how I feel about that to be honest. It might not bother most people but, being the clumsy girl that I am, I'm scared I might hurt myself by dropping it or something! haha You get 100ml of product. Most shampoos come in 250ml bottles, but if you consider this IS a clarifying shampoo, meant for once a week use only, that's really not a problem. It contains eucalyptus in the formula, which makes it smells so amazingly clean and makes your scal feel so fresh! My hair has never felt cleaner in my life! I really enjoy using this. The best part is, it doesn't dry out the ends of your hair. However, I would not recommend this is you've got an itchy or flaky scalp, as it can make it worse by drying it out. That's the only fault I can find in this otherwise great product!

The Phyto PhytoNeutre Clarifying Shampoo is £10.50 for 100ml at FeelUnique.com!

My NARS Wishlist!

1. Sheer Glow foundation: I've been eyeing this foundation for such a long time now and I absolutely love the nice dewy finish it gives!
2. Velvet Matte Lip Pencil: I've finally lost my fear of red lipstick and this looks like the perfect deep red for my skin tone.
3. Blush in "Outlaw": Unfortunately I find that "Orgasm" is a bit too shimmery for me. I tried this new shade at their counter in Selfridge's and now really regret not getting it!
4. Bronzer in "Casino": I think bronzer is the perfect finishing touch to most looks and this is their darkest one, which I think would show up perfectly on my darker skin.
5. The Multiple in "Copacabana": This product is designed to be used on the lips, cheeks, eyes and body. This shade looks like the most amazing highlighter.

NARS is one of the coolest brands out there, in my opinion! Their sleek, rubbery packaging with the white lettering just looks so elegant and stylish. Also, it's almost as if everything they put out instantly becomes a cult product! To me, this brand is the epitome of the French cool.

Just check out the brand founder, Francois Nars. How cool does he look?? haha That's VOGUE Brazil's beauty editor with him, Victoria Ceridono. She also runs my favourite brazilian blog, Dia de Beaute. Her videos are also so helpful and I love her Sao Paulo accent! Check it out if you happen to speak Portuguese!

Products I've Been Loving #1

These are some of the products I've been using the most lately:

The Avene Thermal water is such a God send in this weather. It is very soothing on dry skin and applied before your moisturizer helps it sink in a million time better! It is definitely a product I'll never go without. I prefer this one to the La Roche Posay, for some reason (I think Vichy do thermal water as well, haven't tried theirs yet!). My Diptyque candle in Gardenia is almost at the end. This candle  is definitely worth the hype! They are pricey, but the quality is very good and the throw is amazing. When I lit it in the living room, I can smell it upstairs as well! I really want to get a full sized one now. Another cold weather must-have is this L'occitane Shea Butter lipbalm. It fixes my chapped lips in 15 minutes, I swear! The Caudalie Divine Oil has been such a life saver too! My legs never get that white hue anymore, cause they are never dry when I use this! I purchased a few products from the Super Facialist by Una Brennan (review on the cleanser coming soon!) and the Rose Hydrate Mask has a been a really good surprise! For those days when my skin in unbelievably dry and tight, this fixes it in 10 quick minutes! Phyto is quickly becoming my favourite hair are brand. Their express conditioner smells so nicely and leaves my hair incredibly soft! Lastly, the Soap & Glory Pulp Friction body scrub, my favourite one ever.  I've tried one other S&G body scrub in which the exfoliating bits were mainly sugar and it wasn't very effective as the sugar dissolved before I had a change to really buff my skin. I don't know what the particles are in this one, but they do a great job! It doesn't feel abrasive or "scratchy" at all, but leaves my skin feeling clean and soft!

Congratulations if you made it this far and thanks for reading my huge ramble! x

Caudalie Divine Oil Review

As most of you might know, I've been really suffering with the dryness from the cold weather and all the time spent in doors with the heating on. I had purchased the Johnson's baby oil a few months back and was really enjoying how much more hydrated my skin felt compared to just using lotions or body butters. However, that baby oil is basically pure mineral oil, which, I found out recently while reading Caroline's blog, is not good for your skin at all! So after reading all your comments on my post asking for tips, I decided to go ahead and invest in a really good body oil!

I went for the Caudalie Divine Oil. Everybody's heard all the raves on their Beauty Elixir (which I've personally never tried), so I was confident their body oil would be of good quality and deliver good results! After reading some favorable reviews on it (and checking the ingredients list!) I ordered it from FeelUnique.com.

Like all Caudalie products, the Divine Oil contains grapeseed extract. In fact, grape-seed oil tops the ingredients list on this, which I'm very pleased about! There is also no trace of mineral oil in it. Other oils contained in it are hibiscus, sesame and argan, which are combined with antioxidants. Sounds amazing, right? Well, it is! I have to say, this is one of the best products I have used so far. Not only it moisturizes my skin better than anything I've ever used, it smells incredible, too. To the point where I don't even feel the need to wear a perfume on to. It's a bit woody and warm, it's just lovely for this time of year! It can be used on the body, face and hair. I haven't tried it on my hair yet, but it's brilliant on the body and on the face, it doesn't make me oily at all, just beautifully moisturized and plumped!

The Caudalie Divine Oil is £25 for 100ml and, in my opinion, it's worth every penny.

Yummy candles!

My first ever scented candle was a brandless vanilla one. It came in a pretty glass jar and it was massive, but had only one wick, so you can guess what happened: I got to the bottom of the candle but the sides were annoyingly still full of wax! Now, a year on, I've decided to get better candles and pay more attention to these small details! The blogs I read have definitely influenced me to buy candles, so I've also read tonnes of reviews before investing in these!

I got the Yankee candle during the House of Frasier 2 day event of discounts (or something like that!)  so it only cost me around £7. Luckily, I actually prefer this packaging instead of the more expensive one with the glass top! The scent I got was "Honey & Spice" and I love it for this time of year. It smells very warm and cosy. I can't smell the honey if I'm honest! It smells sweet, but not sickening sweet. My husband also like it, which is always a positive because he usually doesn't care about these things! haha The only down side to this is that the scent isn't as strong as I would like it to be. While reading reviews on Yankee candles I noticed many people saying this is a recent change, that they used to be a lot more scented. Oh well!

This Diptyque candle I bought on the Selfridges website. Oh, the alluring Diptyque candles. Is there another brand that has prettier packaging than this?? haha I actually just wanted this to sit pretty on my bed side table! haha These are very expensive, this 70g one cost me £20, but I personally think they're worth it! Because I got it online a obviously couldn't choose it by the smell, so I got it in "Gardenia", which a friend recommended. It smells very nice and the scent is very strong! I think these are better quality than the Yankee ones, but I've been burning my "Honey & Spice" more just because the Diptyque smells so fresh and summery! I would recommend both candles nonetheless!

The Not So Lazy Face

What can I say about this look? I like to keep my make up simple and elegant, so when I actually make the effort of putting eyeshadow on I keep to the neutral, more understated colours! I envy you girls who can do those amazing smokey looks with five different eyeshadows, but because of my hooded lids any effort I put into it goes to waste as you can't even see it when I have my eyes closed. So I keep it to a simple wash of colour all over the lid and I actually like it like that!

Here I used the darkest brown of this Sleek palette all over the lid. If anybody knows of any dupes for that, please let me know in the comments! It's my favourite colour of the whole palette and I'm almost hitting pan on it! I then added the shimmery brown to the lid area, just to give it a little something! I love this combination of colours, I think it looks very pretty! I used the lightest colour below my eyebrow to blend out any shadows, mix a bit of the brown and black and run it on my lower lash line and I'm finished!

Again, because of my eyeshape I have to really go for it on the lashes, so curling them is a must! I got this Shu Uemura lash curler for Christmas 2010, it was the first present my now husband ever gave me! haha I lost the extra rubber band it comes with so I think I might need to replace it soon!

MAC eyebrow pencil in "Spiked"; L'oreal Telescopic waterproof mascara; Benefit High Speed brow gel; No7 lip pencil in "Blushing"; MAC Studio Fix concealer in NW35; Clinique Superbalanced foundation in 09 "Sand"; Sleek Oh So Special palette; Shu Uemura eyelash curlers; Sleek blusher in "Pomegranate".

My skin saviours - and a cry for help!

I posted a picture on Instagram a couple of days ago with the products I use before bed every night and I thought it would be a good idea to give you guys a loser look at my skin care regimen. Ever since I got really serious about looking after my skin and started using these products religiously, my skin has improved significantly, it's really impressive. I have repurchased all these products (except for the Liqueid Gold, this is my first bottle), so I think that's a testimony to their efficiency!

First is the Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic. I don't even know if products can have such an effect on your skin, but I credit this toner to turning my oily skin into combination! I got my first bottle of this in 2010 and used it every single night till the bottle was empty and it is a miracle worker, I highly recommend this for people with oily skin. I'm on my fourth bottle of this and I really dont see myself going without it! Some people think toning is not important, I guess it depends on the toner you're using! Aside from all the benefits, I specially like using a toner as a last step on my cleansing routine, where I can make sure very last trace of make up and dirt is gone. Next up is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. Now this, I think, is the most I pressure of them all. If I go more than three days without this I am SURE to get a few spots on my face! It is a thick gel which works to unclog the pores and eliminate dead skin cells. It also contains anti bacterial ingredients, which is great for those of us who suffer with spots. I'm on my second tube of this and already have a back up so I don't have to be without it! The Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is also on my routine, as the pigmentation my spots leave behind can last for months and this definitely helps clear them out a lot faster. You have to be diligent and extremely patient with this one, though, as the resuls don't come over night. I have been and I'm really happy with how it work! Lastly is Alpha-H Liquid Gold, which I've reviewed in depth here. My feelings for it haven't changed, I absolutely love this and have abandoned scrubs all together in favour of chemical exfoliants. It is a repurchase for sure. I've only been using the Liqueid Gold once or twice a week, and use the other products on the other nights!

Now, girls, I need your help. Most of you will know I have moved to England from Brazil in April and this is going to be my first English winter. Where I'm from, when it's 22 degrees out, people are breaking out their coats from the closet! I am TERRIFIED of this winter! I feel my skin drying out from the cold and from the heating, my hair is suffering as well and I have no idea what to do! haha I would really appreciate it if you could give me any tips or product recommendations for surviving the colder month.Thank you so much! x

Superdrug Mini Haul

I went to Superdrug a few weeks ago looking for the Kate Moss lipstick in 107 and, of course, didn't come out just with the one thing! Here's my mini haul:

First let's talk about the lipstick! It's from Kate Moss' new collection for Rimmel, which we have all heard about a thousand times over. But this lipstick is the one that rescued me from the world of neutrals! It's my first ever red lipstick and I'm sure it won't be the last. In this I found the perfect shade for my skin tone and actually, from all the swatches I've seen online, it is flattering on everybody! I went to Boots first looking for this and they had a couple but they were all used or had been messed with! I don't know if I'm more annoyed at the costumers who do that or at the staff that just lets it sit on the shelves! I then went to Superdrug to try to find it and had the same problem, but then I found my little treasure fallen at the back, the shade i wanted and it was intact! Victory is mine!
Next is L'Oreal Telescopic waterproof mascara. I'm quite liking it at the moment, it's not gimmicky, it is straight forward, lengthens the lashes, hold a curl, doesn't budge... It does what it's supposed to do, but it's nothing out of this world, I'm not really blown away by it. I also think, at £10.99, it is extremely overpriced for what it is. Lastly is a trusty Sleek make up blusher in "Pomegranate". I think Sleek is the best high street make up in my opinion, you can not beat the quality and pigmentation of their products for the price.

I think I will probably repurchase the Telescopic mascara! I'm completely in love with that lipstick, I'm struggling not to wear it every time I leave the house (or jut to lounge around)! The Sleek blusher is very pigmented and it's the perfect for the winter months, it gives you that gorgeous flush as if you had been out in the cold. I'm really happy with my purchases!

Empties #1

1. Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat: I bought this when my hair was extremely damaged from heat styling. I'd blow dry it every other day and use straighteners every day. I guess that's the reason why I don't even use heat on my hair anymore, it was bad! I think this treatment really helped my hair, but it's nothing amazing, to be honest. Stay away from this if you have fine hair, it is insanely thick, almost like a paste, and it will weigh your hair down! I wouldn't repurchase purely because there are better options for my hair as it is at the moment, but if you have dry, damaged hair, go for it, you will love it!

2. Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel: I cannot sing enough praises for this cleanser, it is brilliant! It comes in gel form and it turns in to an oil when you rub it on to your skin. It feels so nice and luxurious! It gets every trace of make up off, even waterproof mascara (it's safe to use around the eyes)! I didn't repurchase it because I wanted to try new things and I kind of regret it now, as I'm a bit disappointed with the Lancôme cleanse I got! Specially now for they winter months, the fact that this turns into an oil on the skin is great to avoid that dryness. It comes off really well so you don't have to worry about any residue on your skin!

3. Clinique Superdefense SPF 25 Moisturizer: this is a brilliant moisturizer.this was a (considerable) sample size I got and it lasted so long! I loved it so much I purchased the full size one, you can find my review here. Another product that is great for the colder months, as it is quite thick, but is absorbed brilliantly by your skin!

4. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution: this is one of those products that takes ages to work but I can guarantee, it does work! It's annoying to have to wait, ut if you wait for it, results will come. I have a big problem with the pigmentation my spots leave behind. I've been religiously using this since April and it has improved/cleared lots of my little spots. Unfortunately my spots don't stop popping, so this product is one I think I'll probably use for a long, long time! I recently repurchased it! It was £30 in April and it ow costs £36 for the same amount. It's annoying, but worth it!

5. Avene Thermal Water spray: I prefer to apply moisturizer to slightly dampened skin, as I feel my skin absorbs it better. I like to give my skin a spritz of thermal water, as it has a higher concentration of minerals and other properties that are good for our skin than tap water. This is, of course, only one of the uses of thermal water. You can use it after waxing to calm the skin down, after you finish your make up to avoid the cakes finish (the mist is really fine and doesn't ruin the make up!),  to give the skin that boost of hydration... Endless options!

6. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer: I read really good things about this on Hanne's and Celina's blogs. It was the first pre shampoo treatment I ever heard about. You apply it to wet hair and leave it on with a shower cap for as long as you can. This leaves you hair feeling absolutely gorgeous! I don't know if you have is expression, but in Brazil we would say it leaves your hair feeling "buttery", not that it's oily, but it feels so soft that it is almost "melting"! hehe I got this 75ml size with a kit I bought, which came with a shampoo and conditioner, but I don't know if I'd purchase the full size as it's so blooming expensive!

The Liebster Award

I've been nominated for the Liebster Blog Awards by the lovely Jezz! I'm so honoured, even when your blog is a small one, you always put effort into every single post you write and it's amazing to have someone recognise your work!

The Liebster Blog Awards is awarded to bloggers, by bloggers. It aims to spread the word about blogs with less than 200 followers ans I think it's an awesome way to get the word out and help smaller blogs to connect with as many people as possible. If you get nominated/tagged, you answer 11 questions,  present 11 random facts about yourself and then come up with 11 questions for 11 bloggers you follow to answer! Here goes:

1. What is the most girly thing you have ever done? I started a beauty blog! haha
2. What shoe size are you wearing? Size 7
3. Red or nude lip? I love a natural looking lip, but I've only recently lost my fear of red lips! So I'll say it depends on the occasion!
4. Have you ever traveled outside your home country? If so, explain! I have only travelled outside of my home country once and then subsequently moved to that country (England!).
5. Wine or cocktail? I don't drink alcohol!
6. What is your favorite beauty item of all times? Mascara, definitely! There's nothing more feminine, delicate and sexy than long, fluttery lashes!
7. Dogs or cats? Cats. Because they're more independent.
8. Is blogging your main job? If no, care to share the real one? No, it is not! I'm waiting for my spousal visa to arrive, I can't work in the UK without it.
9. Skinny vs curvy, what do you prefer? Well, we all know usually "curvy" is an euphemism for fat. I prefer actual curves!

Clinique Superdefense SPF25 Age Defense Moisturizer Review

I remember when I was 12, I watched a documentary about the history of Clinique and all the women  who were being interviewed for it looked so elegant and sophisticated, well spoken and smart. I wanted to be like them! I'm sure I'm not quite there yet, but I have to admit, using Clinique products always makes me feel super posh (maybe that documentary has left a mark in my brain! haha)! I wore the Superbalanced foundation on my wedding day and it's still my favourite foundation. When I bought it, they had this offer where if you bought two Clinique products you'd get a (super cute) tin full of samples and one of those samples was the Superdefense moisturizer.

Clinique claims this moisturizer offers defense against the effects of sun, pollution, stress and time and also aids in the skins natural repair. It has got an SPF of 25, UVA and UVB protection, which makes it the perfect choice for an everyday moisturizer. Like all Clinique products, it's 100% fragrance free. I really like that, as I am very cautious of putting anything overly-scented on my face, always scared of bad reactions!

It comes in a pot, with no scooping spoon, which some people may be put off by, but I don't mind it since I always put this on after washing my face so I'm sure my hands are clean! I got this tip from a dermatologist in Brazil: you don't want to apply moisturizer on your face when it's completely dry. I always give my face a spritz of thermal water (Avene is my favourite) before applying any moisturizer. This one is quite thick in consistency, so it also helps it glide on better on my skin. I have applied it do a dry face and I feel a lot more moisturized if I use the thermal water! It says to avoid the eye area, but I don't. This has solved the problem I had with dry skin around my eyebrow (gross, I know!) and has never stung my eyes!

Now, because this is an anti ageing product and it said it's for dry to combination skin I almost gave it away, thinking it would be too rich for my face, but it definitely isn't! Like I said, it is quite thick, but it's not clogging at all, it leaves my skin feeling soft like no moisturizer's ever done before, it gives the exact amount of moisture. It leaves no residue sitting on top of my skin, doesn't make me shiny at all and, surprisingly, keeps the shine at bay for a long time! I found, with consistent use, it's evened out my skin tone as well!

I don't really like is expression, but here goes: holy grail moisturizer, for sure!

Clinique Superdefense SPF 25 moisturizer  comes in a range of skin types (very dry to dry, dry to combination and combination to oily). It's £27 for 30ml and £37 for 50ml, from the Clinique website.

The Little Black Jacket

Mr. Fletcher was in America for a week, so I decided to keep myself entertained and went to London last Thrusday to check out Karl Lagerfeld's photography expo,  "The Little Black Jacket" (and maybe expend Mr. Fletcher's money (sounds fair to me!), at the Saatchii Gallery. The expo's been to New York, Taipei, Hong Kong and Tokyo and it's been organised to promote Karl Largerfeld's new book in collaboration with Carine Roitfeld (love her!).

The Saatchi Gallery is located in one of the nicest areas of London (in my opinion!), Chelsea. The building is incredibly beautiful. There is also a restaurant and a bar/cafe in the gallery, which looked really nice (I was craving a GBK burger though. I'm so posh!)

There are 113 photographs and (as the name suggests), the main star is Chanel's iconic black jacket. There are celebrities, singers, models and fashion personalities and its very interesting to see how the jacket has been styled differently for each one to reflect their own personality. Here are some of my favourite pictures:

It was also really fun to people watch at the gallery. I felt a little out of place in my jeans and tshirt cause all the girls were super made up! It was great to get some fashion inspiration, too! haha

The Little Black Jacket exhibition is open until the 4th of November at the Saatchi Gallery and entrance is free! Follow my blog with Bloglovin
